{"id":388,"date":"2008-10-16T05:59:05","date_gmt":"2008-10-16T10:59:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/toddsingleton.net\/chronicle\/index.php\/?p=388"},"modified":"2008-10-17T14:51:46","modified_gmt":"2008-10-17T19:51:46","slug":"they-finally-let-mccain-be-mccain","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/toddsingleton.net\/chronicle\/2008\/10\/16\/they-finally-let-mccain-be-mccain\/","title":{"rendered":"They finally let McCain be McCain&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>And do you know what&#8217;s sad for Senator McCain?\u00a0 Even if everything he said in last night&#8217;s debate were accurate I still wouldn&#8217;t vote for him.\u00a0 It&#8217;s not only the message, it&#8217;s the delivery.\u00a0 The way a candidate delivers the message says a lot about the person.\u00a0 John McCain comes across as cranky, arrogant, condescending and worst of all spiteful.\u00a0 This is not the type of leader I want running our country.\u00a0 And regardless of his delivery last night (or should I say intentional aggression) his message was still off.<\/p>\n<p>McCain claims Obama&#8217;s trying to &#8220;spread around the wealth&#8221;.\u00a0 Well that&#8217;s a hell of a lot better than the extreme concentration of wealth that&#8217;s gone on recently. \u00a0 And I&#8217;d say a majority of this concentration of wealth has nothing to do with people&#8217;s &#8220;hard work that should be rewarded&#8221;.\u00a0 That&#8217;s the fallacy.\u00a0 McCain made a big deal about &#8220;Joe the plumber&#8221; who can&#8217;t buy his business under Obama&#8217;s tax plan.\u00a0 Boo, hoo Joe.\u00a0 Like many American&#8217;s I&#8217;m trying to find money to pay for my car right now.\u00a0 Why do I give one rat&#8217;s ass that you can&#8217;t buy a business?\u00a0 That&#8217;s your problem Joe.<\/p>\n<p>McCain&#8217;s economic attack amounted to going after the fact that Obama doesn&#8217;t support trickle down or &#8220;piss on the people&#8221; economics.\u00a0 Good for Obama.\u00a0 The idea that giving rich people more &#8220;incentives&#8221; and &#8220;financial breaks&#8221; means they go out and create high paying jobs has been catagorically denounced by a mojority of economic scholars as a a fairy tale.\u00a0 It doesn&#8217;t happen.\u00a0 People sit on the money or spend it on exclusive, luxury goods for themselves.\u00a0 This benefits no one but a small handful of exclusive retailers and manufacturers of European sports sedans.\u00a0 Yay for them.\u00a0 McCains economic plan = Save the Yachts.<\/p>\n<p>Don&#8217;t even get me started with McCain&#8217;s health plan.\u00a0 The only things he&#8217;s right about is the cost of health services is too high.\u00a0 The idea of taxing employer sponsored health plans is a joke and this is the type of arm&#8217;s reach regulation small businesses should be worried about.\u00a0 I am no fan of Corporatist America and that is exactly what McCain supports.\u00a0 More power to corporations, indemnification and buyer beware.\u00a0 Modern corporations are too large and legally defended for it to be them against consumers.\u00a0 Like it or not corporations need outside regulation and oversight.\u00a0 They cannot be allowed to police themselves.
