Difference between UVerse and DSL? Or… Difference between VDSL and ADSL

Uverse is simply AT&T’s marketing name for VDSL or VHDSL, “Very High” Bit Rate DSL and it’s different from Asymmetric DSL in that ADSL can only handle up to 8 Mbps download speeds and 1 Mbps upload speeds whereas VHDSL can handle 52 Mbps download speeds and 16 Mbps uploads. The DSL equipment required for each is different so an old ADSL router cannot be used for Uverse.
